Epitalone is a synthetic peptide which is based on the natural peptide present in the pineal gland – epitalamine. He is a potential modulator of telomerase, an enzyme that maintains and protects the telomere caps at the ends of chromosomes (DNA strands). The research suggests that epithalon causes telomere lengthening and may combat the effects of ageing as a result

Studies on rodents and fruit flies also prove its anti-ageing properties.
